QuickBooks
Forget about the fact that we are based in Glasgow and are possibly
not close to where you live or work. In today's world of modern
technology, acocuntancy is made easy, no matter how large the geographical
distance, so it is totally irrelevant.
We use an accountancy package called QuickBooks
to work on our clients' files. This package is always up-to-date
with regards to legislation, due to updates sent out by Intuit,
the software company who created it. This software is available
to purchase from both Intuit
online or from most good computer stores.
QuickBooks works on standard double-entry accounting
principles, without you needing to know what happens behind the
scenes. The program is easy to use, and to prove this, we work with
several clients, over a large distance. In these cases they input
what information they can before sending the file to us for completion.
After we have done this, we introduce several checks to the accounts,
e.g. a bank reconcilliation, to finalise them before sending them
back to the clients.
We can also do analysis of accounts, so that our
clients can keep up-to-date, complete accounts on file and this
can be done fairly quickly. It is simply up to each client to determine
how often they would want this done for them - monthly, quarterly
or annually.
So whether you would like to have some measure
of control with your accounts and input the data yourself, or would
